It is similar to a card trick type design, only it was done with long triangles....??? I had the pattern bookmarked and I lost all of my bookmarks when I updated to the "new and improved" yahoo mail!
Anyone know the design? Thanks...Donna

Sorry, can't help with the pattern, but did you know you can create a bookmark right on this website? just look above the orignal poster's avatar. Your PC can die and you will still have your book marks! (just hope the server doesn't crash)

sounds intriguing.

Is it this one: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-100648-1.htm

donna13350 07-25-2011 01:01 PM

No..that's not it, but thank you for trying. Try to picture a pinwheel type thing, only with elongated triangles...if that makes any sense??
Yes..I do know about the bookmark feature here, but this was in my IE bookmarks..Donna

Diamond Log Cabin Star by dunsterQuilts

It was posted on the board here awhile ago and she has now put the pattern up for sale.

I found it!! I had saved a picture of it in my pictures files...now to find a pattern!

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_m8qtGRJX58...600/Laced+Star,+FriendShip+Star,+Card+Trick+Variation.JPG

it's the top block in the picture....if I remember correctly this was never a quilt, it was in a contest for painting blocks on barns or something like that...
it has a very distinct amish look to me...i wanted to make it as a large one block quilt, then quilt it heavily...

ghostrider 07-25-2011 01:59 PM

The block is called Interlaced Star. It's on Quilter's Cache as Laced Star, a paper pieced block, and is quite easy to draft in any size.

It almost looks like it would be easier to ;just piece; rather than having to paper piece four segments per block!

donna13350 07-25-2011 02:13 PM

I know...trying to figure that part out now with paper and pencil!

donna13350 07-25-2011 02:19 PM

Thank you ghostrider!! never thought there was a pattern!

Donna,

Could it be listed "Card Trick an Easy Way - AGAIN" by Jan in VA on 7/14?

Donna
I had that problem but I went back to the old Yahoo mail and there was everything. I forget what I did but I didn't like the "NEW YAHOO" .

I also switched back to the old yahoo; had issues with the new. My question is, will it come to a time when we are forced to go with the new?

I know...it was awful...I did finally get back to the old yahoo...by disabling java, loading the classic, then enabling it again..also had to restart computer... a lot of work to fix their new and improved garbage!! I didn't get my bookmarks back, though! Donna

Paper piecing would give perfect point results.

New members to yahoo don't seem to have a choice and are stuck with the new. I helped a friend sign up a couple of months ago and with the bugs it would not let her prepare an email when she clicked on "New" to compose. How is that for a piece of garbage?? That was when I immediately switched back because I was noting flaws on mine too. I am sticking with the old as long as possible.

She colors hers differently - but it looks like the same pattern. I prefer paper piecing with that many points! Jinny Beyer pieces everything by hand - that's how she gets everything to match so beautifully - and why her points are so beautiful.

I don't like the New Yahoo either. It took me all of 30 seconds to change back.

linhawk 07-26-2011 01:20 PM

Thank you.
I am so happy you mentioned that you lost your bookmarks in the new Yahoo. I have exported them and my contacts because I believe they are going to ONLY have the new Yahoo shortly. Last time they changed I lost pics, everything. Now I am prepared. Thank you again.

fran624 07-26-2011 04:49 PM

Jinnys block is very pretty looks like only 2 colors thanks for the web site

IBQUILTIN 07-28-2011 09:55 AM

Not certain if I'm right, but look in the pictures for a "Star Spin" or "Louisiana Puzzle" to see if that is the right pattern
