I have one machine--a wonderful Bernina 830 (the old one). It's usually a work horse but tonight it STOPPED WORKING! The needle & bobbin do what they are supposed to do but the seam does not happen! I'm sitting here with a broken leg and finally have enough energy to finish a beautiful quilt and nothing is happening! HELP, Somebody! Anybody!

Try a new needle, rethread, and rewind bobbin?

and? just a thought, did you put the needle in the right way. Some machines are picky if you put it in back to front.

I have the same machine and it is really a workhorse. Take the top plate of the arm off and clean it well inside. Then put in a new needle and rethread. Remember to put the flat side of the needle to the back. Hope she will work for you.

One thing many for get to do is clean all the fuzz out by the bobbin. I was told DO NOT use the air cans for computers, it just blows the fuzz toward the back getting in the motor. I use a new makeup/cosmetic brush.

When that happened to me, one time I had the needle threaded right to left instead of left to right. The next time my needle had slipped down just a smidgen from the shaft making it too long to catch the thread but not hitting the bobbin case. If it is not picking up the thread to make a seam, it's something usually very minor to fix.
