I just recently purchased a machine and frame and am new to short arm quilting. This is going to be my second quilt done on the frame. I was wondering if I could use a fleece back, no batting, on the frame? I have used the fleece on the back before but did not do it on a frame. This is a small quilt I will be doing on it...

Do you think it would be ok to use fleece for back with no batting on quilt it on the frame?

Thanks a bunch.

quilting on a frame is not much different than on a table, just easier! yes you can do it

just be sure to roll it on snugly. It should not make a difference. Home quilting frames are a bit different than long arm, but the idea is the same. snug up the backing and be sure the top is smooth so there are no wrinkles. It really should work well.

i have a Grace frame and Bailey 13" and I could do that easily with my set-up. Have fun!

The back should be smooth and snug but not stretched on the frame or else you will have the top puffed up or drawn up when the stretching is released.

Thank you everyone! Working on it now. I am soooooo loving this thing. I did just now notice that my bottom thread is looping grrrr. Which tension do I need to fix? Also, when this happens to you (if it happens to you, that is ;) ) do you leave it like that or do you rip it out and do it again?

take it out for sure, sounds like your top tension is too loose
