Sounds like you got some great deals!

I wouldn't feel badly about your binge under the circumstances. You could sell some of the duplicates here on the Board if they're in your way. :) I'm sure someone would gladly lighten your load and you could let go of the feeling you overbought. But GOOB sales also help the owner who is trying to sell everything ASAP. I'm sure SHE was happy about your binge! And isn't quilting all about making people happy??? :p

I tend to buy whatever strikes me at going out of business sales. I"m still using buttons that I bought when a high end fabric store in my area went out of business about 20 years ago! In my house, it will get used some day.

Ha! Why yes, yes, indeed it is ;-).

My dear DH said that I should consider how much I SAVED instead of how much I spent. He said, now I have all those savings to spend on something else ;-). LOL, I'm not sure that he is good for me.

Wow, great DH. Mine is the opposite. When I tell him, "Look how much I SAVED!" he says, "Yeah, but how much did you SPEND?" LOL. I just tell him he should see how much I left at the store.

Sounds like you had a good time. Good for you. I spend way too much on fabric and sometimes I feel guilty. But then I remind myself there may come a day that I can't buy what I want.. so I better grab it up now :)

I've never been to a going out of business sale before. I would probably do what you did and binge.

I have been more upset about the things that I did not buy at a sale than what I did buy. HTH

I was at a club meeting at our LQS when she announced this was the last meeting , she had just sold the building and was doing the real estate closing next month. Everything was 70% off and we were being offered it first. I stood right up, congratulated her, wished her best and went out and proceeded to select all the most expensive items there and bought them whether I needed them or not. I got great scissors, templates, spinning mats, bolts of wool and kona white & off-white. I spent $300. welcome to the club.
