I bought some glue

At Walmart today I was browsing the aisles when I saw a rack of Elmer's glue . I don’t use much glue in my quilting but had been thinking about buying some to glue seams together so they would match up . This is labeled as Elmer's Craft Bond . It's repositionable but permanent . I'm figuring permanent will be okay for seam intersections .

I am not sure permanent glue is what is used for quilting. Might dry too hard and make stitching thru difficult.

I think so too. Elmers Washable glue is best for quilting. I would never try a permanent glue in a quilt.

I use the Elmer's school glue to match seams. It washes out. I would experiment with some scraps with what you have before I used it on a project. As others have said it might dry hard and make stitching difficult.

You want Elmer's School glue. It's washable. Craft bond will dry too hard for a needle to go through.

The c raft bond may not be what you need to put on a quilt. It is made to hold permanent attachments one to another. The Elmer's school glue (I prefer the clear) that is washable says so on the label.

Personally speaking I wouldn't use a permanent glue, but washable Elmer's glue is great.

A question... has anybody used the Elmers glue sticks? This just gave me an idea to help my DIL as she is learning to piece. The pins seem to be worrisome to her so she overcompensates in the seam area before removing the pins. I cringe but i can see what she is trying to accomplish with her work around! Might make it a little easier till she gets a little more experience.

Yes the glue sticks are great. I use them for all different types of sewing. Used them when making bras earlier this year.

Elmer's School Glue works best when you want a precise dot or line of glue. The glue sticks are quick and work well, but they are harder to be precise with.

Craft glue is what we use for wood crafts or projects that need extra strong hold. Not on fabric.
