While sewing strips for a bargello, I can't hardly believe it, but I sewed on strip in wrong side up! There isn't much difference between front and back, but still....geez, makes me feel like such an idiot. And to make matters worse, I now have to go back in and fix at least 6 squares that are already sewn. I guess I will have something to do tonight while my shows are on. My seam ripper and I have a date!
how frustrating - been there done that, have a great evening!
I have far too many dates with my seam ripper.
Happy TV watching!
If you have to spend time with your seam ripper, watching tv is the least painful. :)
at least you caught it NOW and not the day it came back from the quilter!
Been there, done that. One of my upside down mistakes wasn't caught until it went to the quilter!!
We have all been there...think of it as a relaxing time with the "ripper" LOL
Are we dating the same seam ripper? Relax watch your tv programs and rip out your seams. We've all been there.
I do that all the time!
*hugs* Have a great date. :) (I've been there, done that too)
I've been there also. Maybe while watching TV the ripping will seem less aggravating.
If the side that shows is not that different from the
"right" side, leave it. I doubt anyone but you will know the difference. Carol J. |
I took out 4 rows of blocks this week because I thought the pattern was wrong. Guess what, I was wrong. For some reason I thought I had to flip the rows, end to end only to find out when I tried it that they were right in the first place. ARRHHHHH!
Been there, done that...feel your pain. :(
Like some have said at lest you caught it. So what show are you watching with your date? I have a date tonight too. We could make it a double date!
Been there DONE THIS. My sympathies!
I used to work 2nd shift and got home about 11:30 pm. I'm here to tell ya I have done some UNBELIEVABLY bone headed THINGS when tired and sewing. I sewed an entire row on UPSIDE DOWN once (while struggling to match every seam - you THINK the light would have come on...but nope). My worst "disaster" was CUTTING THE ENTIRE TOP 1/4 off a baby quilt I had just finished when trimming up an edge. I cut down the wrong side of the template. I was so horrified that I just turned off the sewing room light... retreated to bed and fought off the urge to *suck my thumb*.........LOL I don't work that shift anymore thank GOD...lol |
We don't make mistakes, we have learning experiences.
Join the club, we are many. Carol J. |
