I can't be trusted...

...not to buy more fabric so I cancelled my email subscriptions to the web sites I look at EVERY day looking for a good deal on whatever they're hawking. Of course I still know how to get there but hopefully if I go, I won't shop. Did stay away from JoAnn's but the day is still young.https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...es/biggrin.png
Confession...I cancelled three orders I placed yesterday for items I really don't need.https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/wave.gifhttps://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

Ha, we should have a 'no-buy support group' for the weekend! I have NO need for anything but it's hard not to be clobbered by advertisements in my online life when I follow so many fabric manufacturers, artists, and quilters on Instagram! I'm going to try to duck my head and start a new project this weekend. That should keep my hands and eyes busy!

Julienm1 11-25-2020 12:15 PM

Me too, Pat. I'm busy sewing for Project Linus. No Thanksgiving at our house since on son is still sick with a bad cold so I can sew all weekend.. We'll do something later, I hope.

You're a hoot!!
But I know what you mean. I have a favorite seller on Etsy that I buy most of my fabric from. I have to keep myself from checking what's new in her shop or else I'll go bankrupt hahaha

I haven't seen anyone post a VQW but I suppose many are awaiting the Bonnie Hunter event start day. I suppose someone might start a thread, considering how many of us are *not* gathering w/family or travelling this weekend...we can call it the 'Non-Bonnie VQW'!

Great idea! Why don't you start it? Always so much fun to chat and stitch.

I've been trying all day to convince myself that I do NOT need the mystery bundles AQS has on special - really really good pricing, mind you - today. So far I have resisted, but the day is not over yet!

Julienm1 11-25-2020 02:01 PM

Oh Vagabon, I saw that this AM too and thought OMG fantastic pricing even if not a member. Looked for quite a while and then said no. Walked into my quilting room and said...Good Girl. Good Girl and then cried....lol

I pulled up that link again...sigh.

Quiltwoman44 11-25-2020 07:25 PM

Ha, i just told myself No to a $44.00 gorgeous panel. I'd just watched a video on making it into a gorgeous quilt. sigh. But i have other things to keep me busy and i already have those.

Julie you are a bad person and you should feel bad. I'm going to spend all weekend staring at the link!

Ps. The Fabric Moratorium board in the Challenge and Contest area is always open. Come visit to meet like minded folk.

I went on a quilt bus tour back in Oct. 2018 and brought my sister with me who doesn't sew. Even she bought fabrics that weekend. I came home with 86yds of fabric that weekend. I still have some sitting onthe floor for lack of any space on the shelves. That weekend I told myself no more fabric buying until I could get all this fabric off my floor. Put myself on a 1-yr no fabric. Got thru it with no problems so put myself on another year. Still good. I did have to do 3 fat qtrs once to finish a quilt someone decided she wanted made into a queen size quilt but that's all I've bought. All the quilts in the making and that's 6 on the block right now are being made with what's on hand. Looks like I won't need to buy fabric next year either as my sewing mojo went out the door this year so haven't been doing much sewing.

I have been doing my very best this year not to buy fabric. I have made 2 purchases. One just last week for faux fur for Christmas stockings. this is something that is not in my stash and the other was for lame' that I needed to make a series of special face mask for a wedding. Other than that I have been working from my stash. I actually found two packages that got mislaid from shopping sprees before I decided to stop shopping. What a surprise they were. I try not to look the temptation is to great.

I am trying hard to not buy any more fabric. but the black Friday sales are hard to resist.

Julienm1 11-27-2020 02:31 AM

I looked at my fav quilting web sites and on one web site filled my cart with those magic pins...thought about it...have one pack...emptied the cart. Now to sew.

Jingle 11-28-2020 06:39 PM

I have bought some fabric but will have it all used up by year end.

Julienm1 11-28-2020 06:45 PM

OK, Jingle...You talking about year end 2020 or 2021? https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...es/biggrin.png

Macybaby 11-29-2020 09:21 AM

I've been doing pretty well with not buying fabric I don't really need (as I have enough of that already) - my new addiction is embroidery designs. At least I have plenty of room for storing those and I don't have to prewash and fold.
