I found that I was allergic to the Sullivan's spray - developed welts on my hands and arms while quilting. Tried another brand of spray and loved the fact that I don't need to pin/baste the quilt.

Do you access to any Church, library or other organization with meeting rooms that you could use during, off peak use time, to layout and spray all the quilts at one time? Good quality spray doesn't require a lot of product to do the job. I would estimate that a couple of full cans along with what you have left should more than do the job. Good luck meeting the dead line. My charity quilts are on a when finished basis unless the closet is getting low on particular sizes. Bless You...Andie  |
And that's a great idea. Thank you.

I use 3 m 77 spray I got it at walmart for $4.50 a can I got about 15 queen size quilts out of one can. It is so much better if you put it on the floor put your backing down start in the middle & spray about a 5 inch across top first press down then another 5 inch spray & press down just continue till the top is done then start to spray the bottom spray & press after I am all done I turn it over to make sure it is nice & straight. If not you can fix it . Do not use a lot of spray just a little goes a long way I hope this helps you . If you need to ask questions email me at [email protected] make sure to put quilting board in the subject

One of the gals on another group I belong to said she uses cheap hairspray from the $ store and it works? She said the old Aqua Net works the best. I haven't tried it yet so this is secondhand info..crafty_linda_b

Thank you everyone you all are awesome. Carrie, does your apt. complex have a community bldg. with tables that you could use to get all of your quilt tops sandwiched together???? This is how I do mine. |
I would think that spraying the batting would use alot of spray.
