Are you supposed to visit every single shop? I don't get it....I've been looking for clearer instructions on the site. Anyone know?

There are very clear rules at the top of the pages. There is a member area and a rules area. Use the drop down menu and select the shop hop for March. The number of shops for each prize level changes with each Month.

I did not get it either...

I never really understood the reasoning behind it either. In my area it requires alot of driving and with gas prices it would be tough...I know that many people love it, but for me its just too much driving..

this one is one line..but you need to visit I think it was 130 sites and find a bunny...not enough time in a day for me...I rather be on this quilt board or researching fun quilting ideas.

Well, the FabShopHop is an online shop hop, so no driving required! :D But really, the point of all shop hops is to get you into their stores where you will, hopefully, do some shopping (and in the case of online shop hop, at the very least like their shop well enough to bookmark it and head back later to shop while searching for that cute little bunny). Also, if you find all the bunnies, you are entered into the big drawing for some nice prizes. But you can win smaller prizes even if you don't find all the bunnies. Ultimately though the whole point is a creative way to get you into their shops. :D

I tried the fabshophop a couple of times and found that I just didn't have the time that it took. I don't think I ever went back to virtualy visit the shops. Just way to time consuming for me.

Oops..I just thought we were talking about the driving ones...I will check out the online hop!

Too much time to visit 130 shops.Gotta quilt!

I couldn't get it either. found several bunnies but really wanted the neighborhood quilt blocks. spent hours looking for the pattern for the blocks and never found 1 so gave up.

Yep....

I was excited about the hop, until I spent almost an hour and still hadn't found a bunny. That's when I realized that my time is better spent elsewhere.

I would do it but on dial up it could take a LONG time! Some people here have won nice things!

SuzanneG 03-10-2011 06:58 AM

I do them every once in a while. I'm half way through the March ShopHop and all but two shops so far have had clues on their home page that lead me right to the bunny quick and easy. Some years, this isn't the case and I won't spend tons of time hunting that furry little critter either. Like you guys, I'd rather be quilting! :D

I did these for awhile when I was new to quilting and the internet. In fact, I started with a different hop that had a more manageable number of shops to search than 130! I actually won a $10 gift card on that one, too.

I've seen two other smaller ones lately, but they are almost too small. What I liked best about the online hopping is that I learned a lot about different fabrics, especially new lines. I learned what Civil War prints were, 30's repro, batiks, etc. I found sites with awesome patterns that I bookmarked. I found styles that were totally not me, so I got faster at scanning and assessing fabric websites.

All in all, it was fun, but I don't do it so much any more...

I shop hopped in the beginning, but took way too much of my time when I could be doing something else. Now I just shop at a couple online shops, much easier and gives me more time here and to sew.

Just went through all the shops. I found 144 bunnys. So I meet the requirements of 130 bunnys. 15 shops do not have bunny hints. The rest do and some of them you really have to read their home page for the hint. It took me two days to get through all the shops. Some shops I am going back to because I am looking for that color of fabric.
