I found a $20.00 bill

I found a $20.00 bill and spent it just that quick as I found it. I was looking for a quarter. Stopped at a local quilt shop on my way from meeting with a couple and bought the 2 Fold 'n' Sew wreath patterns. The regular square and the hexie. Only $11.00+ tax. So now between the patterns and the video I should be in good shape. Told myself if I come across any extra spot change then I'd get a pattern so I was able to get both and at a good price. The owner of the quilt shop wouldn't let me post a photo but it was for Christmas. Either way I would have had to pay for shipping.

Good for you.

Onebyone 06-01-2016 06:28 PM

That's funny. I love finding forgotten money in coat pockets and hidden zipper compartments in my purse.

JustAbitCrazy 06-01-2016 06:35 PM

That's the $20 I dropped. :D

Jeanette Frantz 06-01-2016 08:34 PM

I would love to find some "lost" money, if I'm the one who lost it! I hate to think of finding someone else's "lost" money, because that person probably needed it!

I must be missing something. What would they not let you post a photo of? Certainly not the patterns you bought...so it must be something in the quilt shop itself.

BETTY62 06-01-2016 11:53 PM

Bet that put a big smile on your face. It sure would have put one on mine.

ManiacQuilter2 06-02-2016 02:27 AM

Lucky you. I would always find a lot of pennies whenever I went to amusement parks.

Find a penny
Pick it up
All day long
You'll have good luck!

I find a penny and then I find a dime!

The only place I found a $20.00 bill was at the casino and my first thought was to take it to the lost and found and
then figured out that the person will assume he lost it playing the slots or something - and if I found it I would save it for something special and not spend it on the slots. Still have the $20.00! I am going to get something special, but I just haven't found the something special and I had, at one point, forgotten that I had stashed away the $20.00 bill. Edie

She said she was looking for a quarter so it's doubtful she was looking on the ground for one but in her purse or person. LOL

I only find pennies but know they are pennies from Heaven, our son leaves them for me. He passed in 2001 and have found pennies from that year.

Reba'squilts 06-02-2016 04:31 AM

I love finding an extra 10 or 20 in a coat pocket or when changing purses! I think you were right to spend it right away. I am thinking about those fold and sew wreaths for Christmas too.

Onebyone 06-02-2016 04:34 AM

I can understand not wanting a picture taken of it. I made one by looking at the picture. It's so simple. I don't know why a pattern is needed. Besides it's an old pattern that use to be in the Workshop magazine from decades ago. A guild member brought the one she made back in the 50's to guild and the old magazine with the pattern in it.

trolleystation 06-02-2016 05:05 AM

Well spent...............

Mariposa 06-02-2016 05:29 AM

A fun find! Glad you got something you've been wanting~

maryfrang 06-02-2016 05:31 AM

Keep the pennies you find and it will turn into $$.

caspharm 06-02-2016 01:41 PM

I found a dime the other day. It was the second in 2 weeks.

Since cash usually can't be traced back to the owner, no need to feel bad about finding the $20. It's not like taking it out of someone's pocket.

tessagin 06-02-2016 02:26 PM

Her employee was working and unless she is there, herself, she won't allow any of her work posted. just her. No big deal as far as I was concerned and I failed to mention I found the 20.in the bottom of my purse. Not on ground or floor. I had just forgotten it was there.

Usually the only place I find money is in the washer from hubby's pockets. LOL! I have a good sized clear glass top hat in there I keep them all in waiting for me to snatch them when I go shopping or want to stop the ice cream man.

Hubby on the other hand has found lots of paper bills. He is just lucky that way. A few week ago he found a twenty in the evergreens out to the side of the house. I tried to tell him I lost it, but, he wouldn't believe me.

Oh once I found a fifty in a garage sale desk I bought. It was way up in the back of the drawer slide, I took it back to them. They didn't look as though they could afford to just give money away.

tessagin 06-02-2016 02:54 PM

That was so nice of you I've done the same only it was a card. My nephew was walking behind a gal going into a store and a zipper to her purse was open with small change falling out. NOt much. He ran up to her and told her. She zipped up her purse better and told him hecould have it. He was able to get his favorite candy bar.

I found a 20 once blowing across a parking lot! just in time I needed gas and did not have the money that day! WE have found half a piggy bank full of change since my mom passed away so pennies from Heaven it is and we had that printed on the back of her memorial service bulletin. I still smile if I find a penny.

[h=1]Pennies from Heaven[/h]
Submitted By: Beverly FaithI found a penny today
Just laying on the ground.
But it's not just a penny
This little coin I've found.

Found pennies come from heaven
that's what my Grandpa told me.
He said Angels tossed them down
Oh, how I loved that story!

He said when an Angel misses you
They toss a penny down,
sometimes just to cheer you up
To make a smile out of your frown.

So don't pass by that penny
When you're feeling blue.
It may be a penny from heaven
That an Angel's tossed to you.

I also love to find money. In the year 2007, my family gave me money , several 20's. I place it in my drawer flat against the front side. The next day my son died in an accident, and I forgot about the money. Years later I found it, and I was so excited. My belated birthday.

pbraun 06-03-2016 03:17 AM

My question too..what were you not to post a picture of?

maviskw 06-03-2016 04:46 AM

I have found money.
A ten dollar bill on the floor in a dressing room.
A ten dollar bill on the ground at a carnival.
A fifty dollar bill on the ground in a mall parking lot.
I figured if they couldn't take better care of their money, they deserve to lose it.
I took it to church and hope the church can use it to make lives better.

I find bills pretty often. Just this spring I found a 20 in the back yard. I guess it had blown there in a wind storm. I found a woman's diamond ring in the Rocky Mountains in the tundra.
I guess I just look down at the ground a lot. A benefit of wearing bifocals, haha.

What a great find! You never know what you will find when out & about.

I walk my dog 3x per day....she is now 9 years old, so if you do the math, that is a lot of covered ground! My 3 most memorable finds from these walks (I usually try to vary my walk on every trip): 1) a $50 bill, 2) a Trek road bike, in a wooded area, which looked like it had been neglected for quite some time but was an expensive bike (I did my due diligence by putting up notices in bike shops in the area, contacted the police, sent Trek an e-mail, put an ad in Craigslist and researched Lost & Found Bike websites, all to no avail...after putting in some elbow grease & new parts I love this bike and use it often), and 3) a dying kitten found in a pile of leaves on the side of the road :(. (It looked like she had gotten swept down the road in a wave of water and ended up in the pile of leaves at the bottom. I picked her up and put her in my coat and brought her to the vet..who could not save her. She was surrounded by love and warm hands for her trip over the Rainbow Bridge.

quiltin-nannie 06-03-2016 09:00 AM

My daughter was hunting for something in her desk and grabbed an envelope that was on an upper shelf. She opened it and there were three $100 bills. Her MIL sends her $100 for Christmas and her birthday and she would stick them in an envelope until she could get to the bank. She had forgotten all about these. They were probably there for at least a year. Why can't I be that lucky? Probably because no one sends me money!

Whenever I 'found' money (under the chairs, in the washer/dryer & etc.) I put them in a gallon glass vinegar jug along with all the pennies my husband doesn't like within his loose change. When our oldest grandson graduated from high school, I gave him the jug with money and he said it was the best graduation gift he received.......it had over $300. in it. When he was younger and would be here over weekends, he asked permission to roll some of the coins and then put them back in the jug. He had no idea at the time, that he would handle that money 'one more time'. Since then, I have started to fill another jug. Thanks for letting me share.
