Well my quilt as you go string quilt I had a problem with.....I had to completely take apart the two rows I couldn't get the rest to match. Somehow I had started with the strings going in the wrong direction for the pattern to work out right.
I have to take each block, rotate it one turn and then sew them back together. Then everything will come together right on both sides.
It took me a lot of head scratching to figure out the problem. I sure didn't want to take those two rows completely apart, but that was the only solution.
My hubby said I was going to turn into a "crazy quilter." Well, tomorrow is another day. Now that I know the solution it won't take too much longer to rework those two rows and finish the quilt.
I still want to put borders on it so hopefuly I will have it done by the middle of the week!
Thanks to all you who gave me encouragement. Sometimes a little goes a long way!! :D :D

I always figure I have to rip several times in each quilt, too.

Glad you figured it out Ditter. I know tearing apart is no fun but sometimes we just have to. It is all about quilting! LOL

Isn't it amazing what we do to ourselves by turning one block the wrong way? I had a feeling it was something simple, yet so time consuming! Glad you figured it out!

I,too, would have taken it apart to MAKE IT work out.

I'd rather be bother by it for a day or a week or how ever long it took to get it right...

rather than...

look at it after it was done and say I wish I could have made it better.

I'm glad to hear you worked it out...
Got Pictures ?

Once I was making a friendship star quilt for a friend's baby and was in a hurry. I had the quilt top finished with the borders on when I showed it to my husband. His question was: are all the blocks supposed to look like stars? I had inverted the star points on 2 or 3 of them. In a fit of temper, I wadded up the top, tossed it to the floor and walked away. But as all quilters know, you have to come back, pick it up and make it work.....so there I was, ripping out the wrong blocks and re-doing them. My lesson learned was before I sew the finished blocks together, check them against the pattern to make certain I have it right....resewing a seam is never fun.
