I went to Dollar General - or as my husband calls it 'The Gates County Walmart' - to pick up some sandwich size ziplocs to put my sorted scraps in.

Went through the office/school supply section looking for a battery operated pencil sharpener. While looking, I found new Post-Its notes. They are hexagon shape and measure a hair over an 1" on the side and 2 1/2" across. Unfortunately for me, the 'hexagon' templates that I am looking for have only six sides and these are true hexagons with 8 sides. They are newer Post-Its with the adhesive strip through the middle instead of the top. So I a putting this information away for later use.

BTW - there are two pads of 40 sheets each (total of 80) for $1.

A "true" hexagon is 6-sided. 8 sides is an octagon.

Okay, my brain isn't really working today I guess. I did take Geometry in High School and did well. Unfortunately, that was almost 30 years ago. Thanks for the correction.

You can still use them for templates. Just cut little squares to fill in the corner gaps when you connect the octagons together. It would probably require Y seams, but if you're doing like English PP, that should be okay.

Sorry, but I've got to comment on your Boxer/pumpkin --Love them both I have boxers (two) I'd use the post-its to remember to buy dog bones or more fabric :)

Must be a boxer kind of group here. I also have a boxer. His name is Jack (rabbit), he loves to run and jump.

What a great picture of your Boxer and the Pumpkin. Puts you into the fall spirit.

That is so cool that you found those! I will have to look at my local Dollar General store. What a great find!
