Congratulations on the job, since it is something you love to do you might as well go for it. I live too far away from Minot to work in Joann's. I would love to work in one but I will have to wait til I get to be social security age and don't have to work.

I wonder if you will get fabric at cost as one of your benefits. Congrats!

Working in a quilt shop is dangerous!!! Very hard to take home a pay check, or at least a whole check! But it is great fun. You get first dibs on all the new merchandise. And hopefully you will get an employees discount!! I worked in fabric stores for almost 15 years. One was a quilting store. The other store was quilting and clothing and home decorating.

Enjoy your new job! I work in a Joann's Fabric store and love it. It's fun seeing all the new fabrics, patterns and talking with the quilters (and sewers) that come in. Have learned a lot. I was afraid I would spend my paycheck on fabric but, it's not hard to resist buying a piece of every fabric you "love". The employee discount sure helps when I am ready to start a project.
