Being a retired teacher I see that as the best of both worlds. One of our retired teachers now works at her lqs teaching quilt classes, but she can pick and choose her projects and time. She loves it and that may be you one day. Congratulations!

Congrats So Very Nice.

Thats great, but..... are you sure you will leave there with a paycheck and not material?
|
That's great, but be careful. One of my sons worked for J. Crew & more than once owed them money instead of getting a pay check. Enjoy

Congrats! What a great job!

How exciting.

We will have to compare notes!! I just got hired part time at my LQS. Worked my first two days this week and loved it. We will see how big of a pay check I bring home! lol

Many years ago when my son was small, I got a part time job at Montgomery Ward in the fabric dept. At the time I sewed all mine and my son's clothes and even some of hubby's. I was a kid in a candy store! I had a huge stash. I didn't quilt in those days but did a lot of garment sewing. Most of my $30 paycheck went for fabric. The best part was that I got to buy all the end of bolts for cost. Enjoy your job. I would love to work in a quilt shop.
