I hate binding a quilt, too. It's not that I can't do it and I do a nice job if I do it. It's that I am so sloooooooowwwww in nand sewing the binding down on the back. Don't know why it takes me at least 4-8 times longer to finish one than any of my friends (and I am not kidding). My mitered corners look great though.

I had a bunch of people mention this to me too, and so I thought I would share the tutorial I created with my mom. I have received many comments on it helping them and I hope it might help you too. http://sewfunwiththesecretcloset.blo...e-binding.html Good luck!! |

Miter corners are the best and should be used. Take time to sew to 1/4 of the edge of the corner. Check out advice from "Grandma Z" on my website - These are techniques that were passed down from my Grandmother to me and they really work.

Make sure your quilt corners are square
cut binding at 2 1/2 inch use just wide enough seam so it will fold over. stop 1/4 in from the corner. Good luck Mary in TX |
