This may be painful, but if you dislike it that much, the solution may be to give it away. It will please some one else. As witnessed by what we see on this QB, one quilter's yuck is another quilter WOW! It will warm the heart and body of someone else and release you from trying to make this one please you.

I would give it another border with one of the colors in the print fabric

If you take it to a Longarmer it will come to life . A good design would be Tickle Too in red thread.
I did a quilt for a girl , her quilt was blue and cream when I quilted it she loved it. It did come to life. Good luck |
Misty - Your quilt is really well done -it reminds me of some of the civil war quilts with muted fabrics. You should
probably not change anything but if you really want to liven it up, then I agree with Billi's suggestion. Add a floral border and fussy cut some of the flowers in the border print to appliqué in either the cream or the navy sections. I personally would simply quilt it and set it aside. If it still doesn't appeal to you then donate it or sell it on eBay. Still it is an achievement and I can understand your not wanting all that work to go to waste. Best of luck - Judy |

I think a little touch of red in it would have you liking it much more. And I agree that it will look entirely different after it is quilted. Sometimes the texture and patterns created by quilting completely transform a quilt.

How about a pop of yellow in the border followed by the dark blue?

Totally agree with all who have said to go ahead and quilt that. Love your quilt! I wouldn't add a thing except batting, a back and binding.

Nice quilting in the plain blue with a contrasting color will draw the eye to that pattern and can make the quilt secondary. Check out what Cindy Needham does.

I don't know why you hate it. I think it's very pretty.

Get it quilted and find it a new home!!!
