I have narrowed down my 2 favorite for sit-downs...,,

It is eithr the Bailey's 17 or 20 inch sitdown. Or the Janome 18" sitdown.

I would appreciate your thoughts on the pros for each....

Thanks.

Bailey's are stretched Janome's. Chuck Bailey is a peach to work with. Last week he worked with me over the phone to get a situation straightened out.

I didn't know Janome had an 18" sitdown.
So I went to their site, and could not find any info.
Would you please give me a link to this model ... so I can check it out!
THANKS!!!

I would check out the specs of both machines, provided you can find them. When considering a longarm (or midarm), there's more to look at than throat size. Stitches per minute is one feature that I think is important. The Baileys site advertises 700 spm for their sitdown, which is really paltry, and perhaps that's a misprint. The Bernina 440QE does 1000, and some DSM's do 1500-1600 spm, while longarms and midarms are typically much higher. The Innova longarm does 3000 spm. If the Baileys is really 700 spm, that would not be enough in my opinion. I couldn't find the specs for the Janome 18" sitdown.

Have you checked out the Innova sitdown?

If the Bailey is a stretched Janome, then of course the warranty on the new Janome is voided. Will the Bailey have a warranty on the machine the same as a new Janome?
