When making pinwheel block where all the blocks meet in the center, there is a way to cut the corners of the joined center where it shapes like a flower and non of the seams overlap and reduces the bulk where they meet.....Does anybody know how to do this or give me a link of tutorial???

This (the tutorial) is the way I was taught. Sometimes it resists going that way, but I usually can coax it to swirl like in the picture. Sometimes I just want to get out the hammer--heard that this is a solution that some people have used in the past.

I suggested that to someone before. Beat it with a rubber mallet until it behaves-if you can't get it to lie flat enough due to bulkiness.

Hammer works great. An instructor at my favorite quilt hop complimented me on my neat sampler blocks one day. I used spray starch and a hammer. Also, try Home Depot for a very nice small hammer, costs about $6.00, and is about 8" long total.

The hammer, or in my case the butt end of my wooden handled seam ripper works for me!

OMG i thought you ladies were kidding about the hammer...lol...i guess not...i should try this one, it sounds fun :-)
