Do you use liquid starch full strengh?
Do you use liquid starch along with color catcher? Should I use color catcher first and then wash again with liquid starch?? Thanking you all for your replies |
I don't use liquid starch in the washer. I spray it on my dry fabric to stiffen it.
Depending on how stiff I want my fabric, determines if I use it full strength or half and half, etc... :D:D:D |
I follow the directions on the bottle and mix up some for starching my fabric, never used it in the washer.

I use mine diluted according to the directions on the bottle in a spray bottle.
If you want to do an allover starch job, wash the fabric with a color catcher, rinse and spin as usual, then soak the fabric in a diluted starch mixture - either in a bucket or the washer, spin and dry. Do not rinse the starch out. I think that's how my mother used it. I can remember dipping just the skirts of my little girls' dresses in a bowl of starch. I didn't want to starch the bodice and the seams that touched their skin. That was a long time ago. |
I make mine 50/50. Just bought a spray bottle from the dollar place and works well for me.

i like mine 5050 or stronger depending on the feel of the fabric. I just mix in a bottle and then put fabric in a bowl and pour starch on top and let it soak in then "hang" dry. I wouldn't use it in the washer or put it in the dryer. I did the dryer and it was a mess inside after wards.
