Applique, I love the way you placed your blocks in the border. I would have never thought about that being so pretty. I've never been crazy about the string block quilts, but I love this border. Your whole quilt is pretty.

The Tree of Life is also on eBay.

One way to really make your quilt bigger is to put the blocks on point . For example your 5 1/4" blocks putting 4 together would make a (about ) 10" block which turned on point would make a 14" block. Beautiful colors! good luck. Show us what you decide!

Applique - what a great way to use string blocks!. and the horse in the center is awesome!
|
I love the colors, the peacock quilt is beautiful!
|
I would sash the blocks in maybe a dark purple.
|
Love the colors! If you can't get the peacock panel, I like the idea of adding sashing between a group of four blocks. You could make the sashing the width you need to make your quilt the size you want.

Beautiful color scheme!

Awesome ideas and examples... great jobs all!!!

imho, I would not sash this quilt, the scrappy pattern and motion would be lost and they would just look like scrap strip blocks, and there would be no adventure in the quilt as a whole.
I would just find a few great border fabrics to get it to the size I needed. These blocks are so cool. I love them. Butt them right next to each other and see how they look. I think, great, that way. Keep making those blocks! The Idea of putting them on point is awesome. peace |
