I must be jinxed today!
I just plugged in my iron, that I haven't had 6 months, and it started popping and smoking! It burned up! I caught it in time to get it out of my sewing room. Now, on top of cutting the curtain fabric wrong, I don't have an iron to press my fabric to work on anything else!

Oh No ! Glad you caught it before any serious damage could happen
That's terrible. I'm glad you caught it in time.
Oh my goodness!!! So sorry, glad it did not cause any damage.
I'm glad you were on it. the things that are manufactured today, we can't go off and leave. Hardly turn our back can we?
That's awful!!!!!!!!!   So glad that you got it in time!!!!!!!!
Maybe today is not the day to be in the sewing room! :(
Hopefully tomorrow is a better day! :) |
Some days just aren't meant to be sewing days. I really think you got a pretty clear message.
Send it back to the manufacturer with a note, and your original receipt if you still have it. They may replace it. If you need a "quick" iron, try your local thrift store. They usually cost $5 and some look like they've never been used.
Sorry that your iron burned up. You're not the only one who is jinxed lately though.
Recently I was telling a few girls at work that I've never had to call in sick and use my PTO time, overslept or had a patient that didn't like me. There were family members who didn't like me, but never a patient! Apparently someone thought I was bragging. Within the last two weeks, I've (you've guessed it), overslept (was an hour late for work), got that intestinal bug (called in sick to work for 2 days) and on my first day back after that bug, ended up being assigned to a patient that couldn't stand me. Karma for bragging? |
