My brother-n-law is a minister. The attached picture contains the material and fabric copies of the stained glass windows of our church. I need ideas for a pattern

Why don't you browse through these pictures. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&s...9RD1o#imgdii=_

Also, if you have anyone close to you that has talent in drawing, maybe you could get them to do a simple design for you. You could raw edge applique them down and use black bias tape to go on top of the raw edges.

Here's a relatively easy one: http://gospelglass.com/index.php?mai...roducts_id=142

Take a look at these websites. They both use the same basic reverse applique type of system where you cut out your pattern in black and fuse it to the background; then you cut out the design pieces and fuse them to black fabric leaving a 1/4" space between each piece to simulate stained glass leading. Then you raw edge applique them down. Here's a wall hanging I made for my husband for his birthday last year which came from the first website.

Thank you all for the suggestions.

Good luck with your quilt. I can see black piping around the fabric pictures and maybe sashing made like stained glass on a small scale. Best stitches

I haven't ordered from them, but I believe http://www.spoonflower.com will create fabric from pictures. You might have them create fabric panels from the pictures of the windows!
