I need help figuring out a queen size chandelier quilt

How many squares would I need to make it?
I have done the 1 square, 3 squares, 5 squares, 7 squares, 9 squares, 11 squares row. That would be the half of the quilt.
But It is too short from the head board to the feet board. Do I need to do a 13 square row? The problem is that I do not have the pattern. Please help if you can. I will really appreciate all your help.
Thank you very much,
aurora41

I would lay it out on the bed starting at the foot of the bed. Then figure how much border you plan to add. If it still looks too short, add that extra row

I made mine with 9 blocks in the diagonal, which is what this free pattern shows. I also added some borders, and it covers the top of a queen bed but doesn't hang over much. However the size to shoot for would depend on how much overhang you want.

This is the Donna Jordan free version of a chandelier pattern called Beads. It is 72x84". To make the quilt longer, just keep adding 11 block rows. To make it wider, lengthen each row to desired width by adding blocks. Plain as mud?

The diagonal of the finished block (9” unfinished, 8 1/2” finished) in Donna Jordan’s pattern is 12” . Queen mattress is 60x80. Add your overhangs for the sides and bottom plus 3” (approx.) for what’s last with the quilting and you will have your ideal size for the quilt. Divide the width by 12 to get the number of blocks across and the length by 12” to get the number of blocks down. Multiply the blocks for the width and length to get the number of blocks you need.
