Thermore is also an option. It has a lovely drape, is incredibly light and not warm at all.
I made my grandmother a quilt with it so it wouldn't be too heavy on her legs, and she could easily toss it aside. However, it ain't cheap and is rarely on sale. http://www.connectingthreads.com/too...g_TD20825.html |
I would add a soft layer of something in the middle, maybe flannel, to give it some body and allow the quilting to show up. Just my humble opinion.:)

In Hawaii, they use only something called a "Summer Spread". When I asked my friend Matt, who lives there, he said it was a quilt with no filling. (Okay, he's not a quilter, but I knew what he meant.)

of course you can make a quilt without batting. However, will most likely look better and wear better if you put a very thin batting in. I would suggest Thermore by Hobbs. Is the thinest batting.

I have some planned, I will used a very thin flannel for the batting so that the seams don't show through the backing :D:D:D
