The only thing I see is that maybe the seams should have sewn all the way to the edge of the backing fabric when you were joining the blocks together. When you rolled it onto the blocks as the binding between blocks, maybe it should have been rolled and sewn all the way to the edges again. (Was that as clear as mud?)

Fun and Done sounds like the perfect answer to my small throat machine. I will be cutting my own templates and winging it until I learn the pattern. It will be on my list after the Cathedral Window. When you are sewing the initial blocks together, sew the entire length of the block.
When you start sewing the rows together, there will be some bulk from when you put the blocks together, but because you sew the entire length, it will be more manageable.
