I need input on what colors to use for Uncle Sam

I am working on an Uncle Sam and am torn which color way to make him. Should I make him bright red, white and blue, or more of a primitive red, white and blue? Thanks for your input!

To me he should be bright red white and blue, well I think it is navy blue. Guess mostly which way you see him yourself. Sounds like fun.

To me, the muted red and blue, and a sort of slightly off-white are more like "Uncle Sam" colors. The brighter ones are more modern, but I still like the muted colors best for a quilt. It just boils down to personal preference, though.

Usually I tend to pick muted fabrics for my quilts. For Uncle Sam I would go with the bright colors. It's really up to how you see him and where you are going to put him. Good Luck deciding.

Thanks to all of you for your opinions. I appreciate it.

I think this is a matter of which you like best. A lot depends on if you want an up to date Sam or a more retro one. Either choice will be good.

Do one of both and see which one you like better. I go for bright!

When someone says Uncle Sam, I think of those old posters, where Uncle Sam is pointing his finger "Uncle Sam wants you" Everyone has different taste, but I would do the toned down colors. Whatever you choose, I would love to see it when your finished.

I wouldn't do bright, but that is just me
