I absolutely love your pattern, love the bowties, love the 30s repros, my favs.

Are the hearts appliqued or pieced?

Hugs to you

That is a very pretty pattern. It really suits the 30"s repo fabric. Sorry I don't have time to help, but I wanted to tell you how pretty the pattern is.

All are pieced, no applique. The heart in the pattern is slightly different from the picture shown here, hardly noticeable difference though.

Jan, could the bow ties be done in the 10 minute block style? And then just stitch them down?

Deb, you know, I've heard of the 10 minute block style, but I have never done it or seen it done. Not sure if that style creates a 3-d effect, but this snowballed method doesn't and I prefer it that way, flat.

Thanks for posting these pics, Bluteddi!
I'm not happy with the rounded, shoulders of the heart shape and will change the size of the snowballs in the pattern to make them softer and smoother. This is why having a tester is so valuable! Great work!

I made a quilt about 8 years ago making the bow ties in a 3D pattern thing. The bow tie is done with 5 squares. I have a Georgia Bonesteel book that has the instructions some where. I don't know where it is at the moment, but I have the book packed away some weres. Good luck testers. Huggies, Fay
