I, personally like pinwheels for a quick quilt. I have done a baby quilt in 3 days this way. Put a shashing in between and simple machine quilting (SITD) or use a decorative stitch in the machine and it's good to go.

This is easy and looks cute. I googled it and there was a free pattern. Thanks
