in fact had to look at what I use now. Looks like a t.v. stand on wheels some one had placed out for trash, probably got an entertainment display. its the right height for me and rolls easily into any room

I have used the nice wood fold up tables with the X legs you can get for $9-$10 at Walmart(or the set of 4 for around $40). They are surprisingly stable and easily moved around. If you need more surface area, just set up another one or two beside you.

I use a sofa table.

This looks wonderful. What a great idea. I am heading to BIg Lots tomorrow to see what they offer. I have a sewing room but when DH feels neglected I will go in the LR till he goes to bed then back in here. I am always quilting so I have to give him time. The noise doesn't seem to bother him. He has surround sound and turns his speaker up so he can hear. Thanks for the idea.

My dad found an old treadle sewing machine at a garage sale and bought it for me. I use it until I need to some fancier stitching then I put my other machine on top of it. I also use it for a computer table. It is sew fun to have in the living room as a decorative piece and conversation topic. It is small when the machine is down and has multiple uses. I love it.

Don't buy JoAnn's table. It is not durable at all! Cheap pressed wood.

Thrift shops/"Antique" shops are a good place to find good old tables. Garage sales also. Many people do not know how desired these old tables are!!
