Heavy thread with a double knot and a pig tail hanging. Maybe even yarn
|
I think they look great! I love the idea of adding curly tails, and maybe just the snout nostrils, eyes, and mouth...I have been collecting all things piggy for about 15 years! It actually started when a friend and her husband brought me a pig with wings back from their vacation...in response to me always saying "when pigs fly..."...it just snowballed from there...I bet I have close to 300 pig themed items!! I just think your outlines are precious, and wouldn't add a whole lot of detail, as you don't need it!!

I luv it! LOL just add a tail, maybe an eye. Great job, cant wait to see it all finished.

When doing a satin stitch, I fing it easier to use a stabilizer under the backing fabric. I use the was away kind. The stitching looks better as the fabric moves so much easier around little areas.

I just love your pigs, you did a wonderful job creating them. The first one really shows much more than the next so be sure to use a strong contrasting fabric. Love them!

I do a lot of applique but use button hole stitch, and yours look great to me, for eyes use very tiny buttons, lol and I mean tiny, for eyes colonial knots, and the tail stem stitch and it will look great,

ADORABLE!! Look like pigs to me, and I've raised pigs at one time or another for over 40 years, my favorite animal, have a pot bellied (2nd one) now, just add the curly tail and you are good to go. Please show a picture of the finished quilt when you can.

Definitely agree that all they need is the curly tail. They are adorable!

I think you are doing fine. They do look like real pigs, just need a tail. If you want details like leg separations, eyes, nose, etc, have you tried a soft brown or meduim grey thread to sew the details? Maybe some embroidery floss for the tail, a stem stitch by hand? Just suggestions, as I think they look fine the way you have them.
