Okay, I have this in my mind and I have it started. I have the coffin ready but haven't found the right backing yet. I am looking for something grassy looking. I'm going to post a picture of what I am trying to portray. I need to know if you think I sould attempt to make the faces of the soldiers or should I just use siloettes? I need some input gals and some technical advice. This one is going to be a chore because I've never done any kind of paper pieceing or art work with my quilting. Here is what I want to portray. Let me know how you think I can pull it off.

Well silhouettes would certainly be easier!

I agree with mom-6, but if you are a good artist, then go for it.

I think the sihlouettes would be appropriate for any branch of service..what a great gesture..but complicated..I was going to add "have fun with it" then thought that might not be appropriate due to the theme. However, I think it would be a great honor to work it.

You can make a memory quilt by useing the printer fabric. You print the photo you want from your PC and print it onto the quilt in one of the squares. You can sew right through the fabric paper. Our WalMart carries it.

Perhaps this isn't what you are after... but just a thought.
