I have searched here and online, but I am at a lost (due to taking pain meds my mind has really been loosing it) I have no idea who makes a machine that has a throat 12-14" long. I am really contemplating getting a bigger machine I don't need anything too large since I cannot really accommodate one. I would love to find a machine as big as my Little Gracie II can handle hence the 12-14" throat. Can you tell me if you know who makes the that big? I have seen the gammill and there is another one but I now there has to be more manufacturers out there. When I search for one I get some weird sites and cannot figure them out. Thank you for your help

Jade, HQ makes one that is a 16" and I believe it will fit on the the Lil Gracie frame.
I saw one on eBay the other day that was the machine and a 12" table all for $2400. Seemed like a good price to me. I think Juki might make a mid arm machine too..hope this helps you..

bailey's makes one that would suit your needs.

Bailey has a 13", 15" and a 17" I think, plus I've heard that they have great customer service in case of problems and very reasonable prices.

Jade,
if you want a machine that will quilt 12-14" squares all all at once, you may want a machine bigger than you think. remember that part of the throat space will be taken up by the rolled quilt.

You might want to join the homequiltingsystems group on Yahoo to get a list of all the manufacturers of long arms that size. The group is very active and can provide a lot of advice.

I believe Innova is one of the popular brands that has not been mentioned:

Oops! Sorry, the smallest Innova seems to be 18".

The Little Gracie II Frame will take a machine with a throat space up to 16 inches. I had a Little Gracie II and was going to buy a Handiquilter Sixteen but went with the Avante 18 inch and a studio frame. I gave the Little Gracie II frame away to a friend. You can check with Little Gracie Company and they will tell you the throat size or if the machine you are considering will fit on your frame. They are very helpful. The longer your quilt is, the more space under your machine in the throat area is taken up.

There is an industrial Singer that is 12"--can't think which one it is now that some folks have turned into a quilting machine and the Bailey as previously mentioned comes in a 13" version.

New to the market recently are some 11" machines: the Janome Horizon and it's cousin the Elna 7300. I believe the Husky/Viking Sapphire 850? is also. And Bernina has a large version out now but I don't remember how large other than the large price tag--LOL.

Thank you all I have been doing some research and have found an sapphire 850 put in an offer but she has other interested in it so will wait. I have a juki right now but she is having issue from her spa day and not sure how she will run once I get her back again.
