I bought this kit...

http://www.shopfonsandporter.com/pro...20SDE%20UP.htm

And Im short...literally one 5 7/8" block the large sunflower pattern by Ro Gregg, Ive been searching and cannot find a shop that has it, I think I was shorted a hair in the amount of fabric given, but I have no way to prove it because I did not measure it when I recieved, I know it was not cutting error because the scraps for this would never make a 5" block if all sewn together....so....I was hoping one of you had some I could purchase!!

Help me please!!

littlehud 03-07-2010 06:58 PM

Did you contact them. Maybe they will help you out. Hope so.

mamaw 03-07-2010 07:03 PM

I believe they should make it right for you. If you contact them, please let us know if they stand by their kits.

Cookie64 03-07-2010 07:27 PM

Most of the time if you contact where you bought it they will replace what you didn't get. I would try and notifi them. Good luck.

My friend who owns a quilt shop has shorted people occasionally on a BOM and she immediately makes it right and cuts new fabric. I would definitely contact the owner and allow her to make it right and cut you some new fabric.

I would call them in the morning and explain what happened, and allow them the opportunity to make good on it :D:D:D

I would suggest this also, they should help

I agree with what the others say.
Sometimes errors are made and the company needs to admit to their mistakes. There should be no reason to measure the fabric you get in a kit. Everything should be there for you.

Pretty pattern :-D

I agree they should stand by their kits and make it right. I too would like to know if Fons & Porter will stand behind their products, please let us know.

CrystalKicks 03-08-2010 06:35 AM

Ill call them today...The thing is it took almost two weeks to get the kit...and I wanted to finish it soon...so I was hoping not to have to wait for it...but I guess Ill have to...Ill keep you updated.

quiltlady37 03-08-2010 08:48 AM

I will be very surprised if Fons and Porter will make it right with you. I have had very bad luck with them regarding a couple of kits.

Did you by chance pre-wash your fabric? That could account for the shortage. That doesn't make it right. They should know that some quilters pre-wash their fabric and adjust for that.

I would contact them and let them know you were shorted on your yardage. They should make it right.

Sorry you are having this problem. That's why I don't like to buy kits. I had that happen with a BOM. I didn't notice it bc I don't do the blocks every month. I don't do BOM any more either. I hope you get the replacement fabric.

Prism99 03-08-2010 09:31 AM

I found this fabric on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/KEEP-YOUR-SUNNY-...item518a51cf85

They have three 1/2-yd cuts available. Is this the right fabric? It's really hard to tell from the quilt photo.

CrystalKicks 03-08-2010 01:51 PM

ooh prism that is the right fabric, but I did call today and they said they would send out the 6" block right away...well...its 5 and 7/8 but I figured whats an eigth...
She was very nice and just asked a couple of questions and said it would be out in the morning...so hopefully it doesnt take too long to get here!!

Paula Z in AZ 03-08-2010 06:05 PM

Glad you are getting the fabric. Hope it comes soon.

skavanau 03-09-2010 11:53 AM

I would call them and tell them what you need and see what they say. I would say most companies would make this right. The quilt is wonderful...

Paula Z in AZ 03-13-2010 08:18 AM

Inquiring minds want to know....Did the fabric arrive?

CrystalKicks 03-24-2010 07:51 AM

IM SO ANGRY!!! Three weeks it takes to get here...and its the wrong fabric...it isnt even close to any of the fabrics in the kit...and they sent me like 2 yards...far from the four six inch blocks I needed. Grr...how annoying...I dont know if Ill have this done in time for mothers day....augh!!

Prism99 03-24-2010 07:59 AM

This fabric is still on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/KEEP-YOUR-SUNNY-...item518a51cf85

skavanau 03-24-2010 08:09 AM

Oklahoma Suzie 03-25-2010 10:35 AM

sure hope you get what you need.

Mabel from Kansas 03-25-2010 11:07 AM

I am so glad they are making it right for you. My 2d quilt ever came up shot and the store where I got it sold all of theirs. It took me over a year to find the fabric but did finally finish it.

skavanau 03-25-2010 12:33 PM

I checked at the Joanns here in Az and they dont have it, but there are some quilt stores here to Ill check over the week end. If I find it how much do you want to pay and how much do you need.
