I need a suggestion for a man's quilt pattern

I have a co worker (24years old) who wants a quilt. He wants it made out of Kansas Jayhawk material and Kansas City Chiefs material. Not a problem to find those two in the State of Kansas. He has agreed to pay me for my time and fabric.. Yipee!!! I am thinking I would like to do one side in KU material and the other in Chiefs material. BTW KU is blue and red and KC is Red and Gold.. Any thoughts any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Also this is a lap size quilt he wants..

Maybe alternating blocks w/4 or 9 patches to showcase the team fabrics? I'd probably then bind in red to coordinate the two sides.

Sounds like the perfect opportunity to do QAYG blocks. Make the Chiefs block patchwork, back it with a plain Jayhawk back, then reverse for the next block. I agree with a simple 9 patch or DP9. You don't want to cut the logo fabric too small.

BQ quilts by maple island are great for focus fabrics , look complicated but are very easy , and are great for men !
