You could do something like the attached quilt and make windows out of the pictures. Its really easy to do. Pick a color that will highlight them the best.

I would make it into attic windows so each photo is like looking into/out of a window.

I would choose blues and brick tones as they are in almost all the pictures.

Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone for all your suggestions. They're all wonderful and some I never would have thought of. I'm going to consider all of them, experiment a bit on my design board and then make the decision. I'll post the picture when it's done. It may take a while with my busy schedule but it will get there. Thank you all again. I really appreciate it!

Don't forget to put a picture of Grandma and Grandpa in it possibly waving. Looks good - can't wait to see finished product.

For a boy I would like to frame each picture same color as seam and pale blue for sasshing, pale check like one of the colors in pictures for border and the darkest color in them for seam. So many ideas, there you go, good luck.

I think a dark blue would set it off. He is going to love it any way you do it.
|
I would add an half inch solid black border around each picture and the make each picture the same size. The black will separate the picture from the sashing, not letting the sashing to compete with those beautiful pictures.

I think you could do awesome attic windows with your photos!! You could add sashing to each one to make them all the same size, using colors that blend best with each block, then do the attic window around them once they are all the same size.
After that, you can add borders in "roadway" or whatever you like to the size you want. Roadway= cut 3, 1" strips of slate gray and 3, 1" strip of white. Sew 1 strip set grey white grey and 1 set white grey white. Sew these together. You want to end up with a 1" strip of gray white gray white... as long as you need for each border strip. Cut 2, 3"-5" strips [as you desire] of the gray as long as you need for each border. Sew the 3" strips to each side of the gray and white strip which will be the dotted white line down the middle of the road. |
