I Never Thought I Would Build a Stash!

MSQC had free shipping today. I have two sets of fat quarters, one layer cake, four yards of fabric and about five charm packs that are in my stash. Those are the ones I have no plans for. I'm not a saver or pack rat. My rule of thumb is if I haven't used it in two years it goes! My rule changed with quilting!

LOL! I understand. I do not want a stash. Too much stuff makes me nervous, but I'm having a tough time not accumulating fabric. I deliberately did not look at MSQC today after I saw they had free shipping. I knew it would suck me in.

I never thought of myself as a hoarder until I started quilting. I LOVE my stash...it is fun to just go and look at it! I can't go in a QS without adding something. It is a definite sickness but so much fun!

Is there a code? I see free shipping for $100---that is too much of an order for me.

never mind I found it...lol

Good for you, personally I prefer building my stash(not that I need to build my stash anymore, LOL) from yardage and not pre-cuts, but each to our own. Congratulations on your purchase.

If not for my stash. I would not be able to quilt today. the cost of fabric has gone over the moon.

Hoarding does not apply to quilt fabric. I have a huge stash and mostly yardage pieces. I need a big choice because I buy what I like and I usually have something to go with whatever print I choose. I am running out of good splotchy, solid and such. I have watched the Hoarders on TV and no way could I ever live like they do. My fabrics are folded and stacked very neatly. My whole house is neat and uncluttered.

No, hoarding rules do not apply to quilting. I have a very large stash. When I get a great idea at 2 am, I can go shopping in my well sorted stash and start immediately. I love it. My family and local charities appreciate the results.

BTW, my guild has a custom that when a guild member is no longer able to quilt, the fabric is sold to guild sisters at absurd prices. When a guild member dies, UFOs are finished for the family by the guild and the guild gets the stash for guild projects, which includes supplying fabric to very low income members.
