I made one almost exactly the same as yours. I'm planning on using my walking foot and making gently waving lines in each strip. I hope that will give it some movement. I haven't taken a picture of mine, yet, or I'd show you.

Yours is really cute.

Very nice looking quilt. Love a strip quilt.

Very nice! I love making jelly roll race quilts. I would probably use red thread but then, I like contrasting thread.

Quickest and easiest would be wavy vertical lines about 2-2.5" apart. You can use a walking foot. The quilting lines would go opposite the direction of the jelly roll strips.

Great quilt. You are wishing for the red more evenly spread so I'd quilt it with the red! That would pull it all together.

If you are going to put S's in the squares, how about writing messages or sayings in some of the strips. You could place the then right side up in some strips and upside down in others. Between words you could use wavy lines.
I am using the same fabric to make a large hexagon quilt.

I think quilting large daisies on the quilt would look nice. I saw a quilt with them somewhere (if I remember I'll post the link) with large daisies quilted over the entire top of the quilt & it looked stunning.

I love the colors in your jelly roll, and often simple straight line quilting is the best way to quilt a quilt like this. Nice job.

Bree...I have seen that and thought that would be cute too....but as this is for my brother and his new wife, I changed my mind. He is a truck driver/Harley rider...I'm thinking this might be too 'girly' already. haha

I've done a few Jelly Roll Race quilts and have quilted them with wavy lines. I like to do a few lines close together, then a space, then a few more lines close together. I don't have a photo of a Jelly Roll Race that I have done, but this denim quilt will give you the idea.
