I ran out of fabric!!!!!

I was making a small table runner and ran out of the binding fabric. Does anyone know where I can find more of it? It is probably an older fabric and not found in quilt shops any longer.

Try MissingFabrics.com. Hopefully they can help you.

Pat625 04-08-2013 02:04 PM

Try posting a picture of it on here..it is amazing what some of us have in their stash!

Cyn 04-08-2013 02:08 PM

Oh no! I hate when that happens :(

If there is information in the selvage, you might google that. It has worked for me before...

Thanks for the replies. I will check out MissingFabrics.com. Good to know. There is info in the selvedge and I tried googling it with no luck. I'm sure this is probably older fabric.

I believe it is a Hoffman "Woodblock" print. Style B674. There is a red color listed as "222" but that may not be the one you need. There are several listed on ebay.

peaceandjoy 04-08-2013 04:39 PM

using www.quiltshops.com, searched Hoffman Woodblock... http://www.sunshinesewing.biz/cgi-bi...ck5_b674_spice

You guys are AWESOME!!! Thanks to you I was able to order more of this fabric. Thank you so much!

This can be a challenge opportunity. What other options can you think of. Try another fabric that works with the quilt top.

MadQuilter 04-09-2013 01:18 PM

It looks like this one was from the Hoffman challenge of 2006. Good luck.

marymay 04-10-2013 03:08 AM

Happens to me all the time. I get so mad at this. Hope you find it.

You scared me -- for a minute there I thought you meant you were TOTALLY out of stash.:p
I'm glad you were able to find more to finish your project.

I would just try to incorporate something else to use. Try to match the color you need to use. Just my thoughts on it.

I once did a pieced binding, LOVED the look. Not sure if you will be able to see the top and bottom binding.

Jamiestitcher62 04-10-2013 11:29 AM

Isn't it awesome that we can find fabric even when it's supposedly gone. I am getting pretty good at it too.

quiltqueen61 04-10-2013 01:32 PM

try www.quiltshops.com, they have tons of shops that search it for you when you type it in and hit the thumbnails button....good luck...Missing Fabrics is another good place to look.....

I love pieced bindings. I have done a couple and they really look nice. Love yours as well, AZ Jane.

Have you seen the new trick, or maybe old, (new to me) where you face the binding with muslin. The muslin is about 1" wide and the real binding is 1 1/2" wide, if you're using the folded binding that is 2 1/2"wide. The muslin is on the inside and never seen. You seam it together, fold as usual and stitch it on. Saw this in mag or online, can't remember which. Next time I'm short on binding I'm going to try it.
