Yes, I have learned to make a test block too. Then when I am done I use it to test out my quilting design. I was making a QFK quilt yesterday and when I was sewing blocks together I found 2 blocks I had cut 1" too narrow. Luckily I had extra fabric to recut. I even put tape on my ruler where I want the cut to be and still I messed up. Pooh!

Oops? Maybe use the ones with the wrong measurements to make something else. It's frustrating, but take a deep breath, keep calm... everything happens for a reason. Maybe this particular batch of fabric was meant to make a different quilt that you would never have thought of because you wouldn't have needed to- if that makes sense?

I woke up this morning thinking about this and I am going to piece the squares. This is just a quilt for home and I really don't have money to buy more fabric. However, I did learn a few things.

1. never cut out when in a hurry
2. turn cell phone off when cutting (kids are driving me crazy!)
3. never cut out when tired or stupid

I leave tomorrow so I have a lot of sewing to do! so...

Hi ho, hi ho, its off to sew I go.......................
