I really need to find this quilt pattern

About five six days ago, someone posted a "Tie Quilt" that they made. I have been looking for a pattern to use men's ties and this one was so pretty, just what I wanted. The only problem is that I forgot to copy it and when I went back it was not there. If the lady who originally posted could pm me and send me the photo of the quilt, I would be so appreciative.

Thank you sooooooooooooo much. One can always count on the members here to come to their aid. This quilt is probably one of the nicest I have seen using men's ties.

That is a beautiful quilt, but it is so strange I look at all the pic every day and never saw that one, this is not the first time. wonder how that happens. Wonder what other ones I am missing.

I downloaded these pictures when they were first posted. They're in my "to do" picture file as the best example I've seen for what to do with my tie collection.
Thanks for this reminder.

Glad you asked about it again. I've got a huge stash of ties that I need to use up too. Thanks.

Wow. I can see why you want to do it. Thats really cool. Of course I love the Dresden Plate but the ties make a very unusual Dresden. Love it. Can't wait to see yours. :)

If you even want to find a quilt and don't know where to look, go to the archives. You can find every quilt picture this board has ever shown. I know, I was looking for a memory quilt and found dozens of them. Mary

Gollytwo, can you tell me how to access a "to do" file and can you save it to a disk. I save everything to "favorites" and they are not backed up. About 4 months ago I acquired a virus and the tech at the store said they could not save them. As you can see I am not too computer savvy. Would appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks, Lucy

Mary, thanks for the info on "Archives". I really appreciate it.

Also, there is a book called "Daddy's Ties" that you can get on Amazon. Really neat ideas and patterns in it.

That pattern looks like Granny's fan

Elaine433 02-03-2012 06:57 AM

Is there an actual written pattern for that quilt? I just love it.

Kath12 02-03-2012 07:49 AM

I bought the book that the pattern was in"Quick Quilts from the Heart" by Fons and Porter from half.com for 75cents plus $3.99 shipping. Now I just need to gather up some ties. Would love to make it

I just love this quilt....just came across it today.....I am planning on making a tie quilt soon.....Could you give me some information on the size blocks, dimensions of the overall quilt and the border design name.....Thanks so much

What a fabulous quilt! I love it!!! I've been kinda half-heartedly saving ties to make into Bow Tie blocks. Anyhoo, thanks for sharing this beauty with us!

WOW, that was a gorgeous quilt. My Husband got rid of his ties years ago, he never had enough to do anything with.

luce321 02-03-2012 06:50 PM

Honey Bea, just as Kath12 above mentioned, I too got the book with this pattern in it. Just go to Fons and Porter's website, it is called "Quilts from the Heart". I got it for 99 cents and 3.99 shipping, received it in the mail yesterday. It was listed in "good" condition and would you believe that it is hardcover and looks as though it has never been used. I am so pleased. The pattern in the book is on p. 15 and is called "Fancy Fans", but you will see that you can easily make it using the men's ties. I can't wait to start on it. I know its going to take awhile just to open the ties and prepare them for the quilt. Good luck to you.

Lucy

I missed this one - I have a whole box of ties I want to use - thanks for asking and for posting the link.
