Going on vacation to the SC coast. There seems to be no JoAnns or Hobby Lobbys or Hancocks in the grand strand area so Im curious to know if anybody here might know where to go to browse and touch some fabric and maybe pickup any supplies I might need. I've located some quilt shops in Garden City and Murrells Inlet but Im hoping someone here can point to some additional sources to check out. I'd say my zone would be from Georgetown to North Myrtle Beach. Any info would be so appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

I can't wait for the answers. If you can possibly take a day trip, go to MaryJo's. It is less than two hours away and it is awesome!!!!. It is day trip, because you won't want to leave.

Thanks Deb, going to check their website now. Anyone have any other suggestions by chance?

Mary Jo's is more than 2 hours, nearer 4 hours. It would be very long day trip. I don't think I would try for a one day trip.
Will send more info about Grand Strand shops later today. Getting ready to teach a friend how to applique on a quilt.
I am a native to the area.

You can PM me.

You are right. It was only two hours out of our way on the way home. Sorry! It would still be worth it to me. I loved it that much!

M Jo's is one of the best places in the world for a quilter.

Quilter's Cottage, Garden City
Accent Sewing, Murrell's Inlet
Sew Many Common Threads, Conway
All these are very near Myrtle Beach.
There is another shop in the area. I will not shop there, nor would recommond the shop.
All of these shops are located less than 10 miles from the center of MB.

Mary Jo's is out of this world fabric store. So many beaututifl fabrics. There is thread outlet, LongCreek Mills, nearby. Check it out when you go to Mary Jo's.

Thanks sewgull, I've written down all your suggestions and will make myself a tour map. I appreciate all the info.
