I saw Don Isewman's quilts at the Kalona museum!

The quilt display was wonderful! Don's quilts were all together in a whole room along with some antique furniture. Some were hanging, some draped over furniture. It was quite impressive, especially since most are bed sized quilts. Along with the quilts, there are articles about Don and how he got started quilting. So fascinating. The museum is really interesting to see too. Kalona is a real cute old fashioned town. And my husband and I saw quite a few Amish people in town. Don said he'll be at the museum on Sept 29th from about 8:00 until 2:00 or 3:00 to talk about his quilts with any visitors. I wish I could go back to meet him in person. It was a fantastic quilt feast for the eyes!

So glad you got to see it. I wish I could. I'm so happy he is able to have this showing, and receiving some recognition. I love seeing the ones he shares with us

I envy you! I would so love to see all of Don's quilts but alas - it is not to be.... for some reason my magic transporter doesn't seem to be working right now. Dang it all.
