Thanks for reminding me not all problems are disasters!
|
same thing happened to me ,new machine, knew i had broken it some how   Then DH started naming thing s I had named when having trouble with the old machine, and sure enough, it needed to be rethreaded   sure glad i talk to mys elf some times, and he listens

[quote=seamstome]I have a 6600 and this is the worst thing about the machine. Mine "unthreads" about once a square when you use the thread cutter because I think it cuts the threds too short and they recoil when you take the piece out a certain way.[/quote
try to consistently use the Needle Up / Needle Down Button; this should really help with unthreading issues. I got this tip from the Janome 6500/6600 Yahoo Group. if unlooping at #6 lever is an issue try threading your machine from the needle back for awhile. This also worked for me. Good Luck! |
Mine slips out of the take up lever every once in a while. I can tell right away. The first time I was so upset. The machine was almost brand new. After a few bad words I checked and realized what had happened.     Boy was I embarrassed. Oh well, you live you learn.

So glad to hear it turned out to be something 'simple' and easily fixed.
|
Oh! Jerinamo!! My Bernina lets the thread spring back also and I get so frustrated with it. I'll be sure to try cutting the threat with needle down! Thanks. Silvia

rethread everything top and bottom, changing needle and cleaning lint...seem to work so many times!
|
you can bet it's the first thing I do from now on no matter what I think the problem is.
|
I use the needle up/needle down exclusively. I think it's just a flaw with the 6600. I had a Viking before this and RARELY have this problem. The 6600 cutter cuts the threads too short and the thread must recoil somehow if you dont do everything just perfect. If I could get another machine with the same options for the same price, I would dump the 6600 for this reason and a few other things that are just poorly planned.

It's funny how many new words have been added to the dictionary just because our machines decide to sabotage us. I'm certain that I've added several and in a few extra languages. I didn't even know I remembered them.
