The book that this quilt came from is P.S. I Love You. either 1 or 2 .

I recently started making I spy quilts and I'm hooked. I think the easiest I spy quilts are made with simple 5 inch squares, one square for each kids print. I have made I spy quilts with 36 squares and no border, 49 squares with no border and I have added borders to others which give a new dimension. I have a lot of scraps from cutting I spy quilts, so I have also put a solid color or batik of one color in a 1 1/2 inch border around the body of the quilt, then a 3 in border of scraps sewn together all the way around, and last finished with a binding in the same solid or batik of one color. It is fun to use to a cute print on the back like "Thomas the Train print" or a princess print and I also like to add a square of one or more favorite family "NFL or college team" to personalize. I like to use the lightest batting so a small toddler can carry this quilt easily. I get more ideas on the internet. I am currenly working on a teenager I spy quilt.

I've made a few I Spy quilts since this post came out 3 years ago. Thought since it was coming around again I'd post a couple of the photos.
