What is a good size for a I spy quilt? do you make it the size of the bed the child has or a smaller one so he or she can carry it around?

Most of the quilt that I seen on here are fancy or have a pattern of some kind...would it look ok just to sew the block together one next to each other.. someone said that a disappearing nine patch would be a fun pattern for a I spy quilt. What do you think?

I just got my I spy fabric from the swap on here and want to get going on it.. Thanks for your input on this.. :-)

It could be as simple as all squares. The child will have fun searching with any pattern.
How many fabrics do you intend to use?

I have 72 sq that are 6 inches

I would like to make 2 quilts out of this fabric if I can...

What do you think about the disappearing nine patch?

I've never done a D9P but my friend did one that was 8 sided, I think, and that turned out really cute. It was smaller so he could carry and snuggle too.

You want to do a disappearing 9 patch with I spy blocks? They might become a little chopped up where you won't be able to identify the objects.

Alternate them with 4 patches or other blocks
Alternate them with fun squares of novelty fabrics
sash the I spy blocks
alternate rows of I spy squares and then a row of solid fabrics

google I Spy Quilt images... you will find a LOT of options too :D:D:D
