I had a friend who removed melted wax from a jar with Goof Off, not the same as Goo Gone. Don't know if it will affect the fabric or not. Might try to use a scrap of fabric with the Goof Off first, just to make sure.

My DM used to boil any fabric until the wax melted and them washed it right away. I never tried it but it worked for her.

Because I never heard of it, I looked up Lestoil and it said that it removes wax. Sounds like something I could use around here!

Goo Gone dissolved the backing of wall to wall carpeting in our house. Just sayin’. Try it on a similar sample first if that’s possible.

How about a charming applique to just cover it?

Vinegar to the rescue. Or, just keep that tree on it year-round. LOL

Plain old ammonia removes wax from floors. Give that a try on a scrap.

I wondered if Dawn might work as the stain is greasy looking. Please give me any ideas you have had success with. Thanks in advance.

Well with the holidays over I decided to try using Dawn on the runner. I kinda soaked the area with it and then ignored it for a week. I washed it with Tide and other items the wax wouldn't hurt. It has removed the wax and only a faint shade of color is left. The main strip it was spilled on is white so I'm very pleased with the results.
