I kinda got in first before it could be a problem. Told DH he wasn't allowed to use my machine until I had given him a lesson in how to use it - which included how to wind the bobbin.

My DH does 'stitching' to make 'manly' things like tool bags. He also does knot work - I love to tease him by calling it macrame (which is not 'manly' - hehe)

I'm sure your DH will work it out when he needs to. Until then, enjoy your shared interest! Good on you both.

Look him straight in the face and tell him that he is on his own.

He is working on his 10th King size quilt top. The only thing is, he refuses to learn how to fill a bobbin or put it in. Now, he keeps me busy threading his machine. How can I get him to learn to fill his on bobbin????

It's the equivalent of ......I love to fish, but won't put the worm on the hook. DH has to do it for me! :)

All of your answers are very interesting. I told him again he was going to have to learn and he said that he was scared he would mess something up. He also said the bobbin and case was too little and he didn't think he could hold on to it to put it in anyway. Oh, well, I'll just fix a few up for when I'm in a hurry and snap them in for him.
In the mean time.... You are right. He did learn how to do this just so he could be close to me while I was in here on the computer or while I was on the other machine.
The way I look at it is. If he tears it up... oh well... a shopping we will go!!!!! thanks you all for taking the time to give me some suggestions.
