Indeed he has! lol he must need cash badly!

kristen0112 08-12-2010 01:08 PM

Maybe his air conditioner went out and cooked his brains a little - hence the house repairs LOL.

redkimba 08-12-2010 01:13 PM

Not sure what something like that should cost, but at least he does say: "need extra money up in this house for repairs"

lisainmo 08-12-2010 01:14 PM

LOL LOL!!! Sad thing is that someone that doesn't know better will spend the money to get it.

Charlee 08-12-2010 01:19 PM

That machine should be priced more around $25 to $50! Personally, I wouldn't buy it just because it's NOT been taken care of...I have a machine from 1880 that's in better shape!

Even featherweights don't cost that kind of money, and those are highly sought after because of their portability!

bearisgray 08-12-2010 01:24 PM

he can always come down in his asking price :?

sharon b 08-12-2010 01:25 PM

He might get 120.00... MAYBE ... why does everyone think they are sitting on a gold mine

sueisallaboutquilts 08-12-2010 01:42 PM

That's a good one!! :D

Crlyn 08-12-2010 01:46 PM

A joke really, can't see him getting that price.

kathome 08-12-2010 01:51 PM

One of his beer buddies probably told him that it's a sought after antique.

Maybe he should tote it to one of those "Antique Road Shows" for an eye opener.

ellenmg 08-12-2010 02:09 PM

In defense of the machine, and NOT the seller, it is a Singer...Those puppies were built like a brick outhouse... run forever and can be oiled by the owner, instead of having to send it out....It isn't worth the price he is asking though......just sayin....

HE WILL BE LOOKING AT THAT MACHINE FOR QUITE A WHILE AND RIGHTFULLY SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CoriAmD 08-12-2010 02:24 PM

I suppose one can dream.... LOL

SHayes 08-12-2010 02:27 PM

What is the red around the head of the machine?? Is it duct tape?? Must have something major wrong with it, don't ya think? I am going to inventory my sewing machine collection, maybe I could buy a new car!

dkabasketlady 08-12-2010 03:59 PM

I had a good laugh when reading this ad, thank you very much! I also sent him an email and told him whomever was the original owner should be ashamed because this machine hasn't been taken care.

CoyoteQuilts 08-12-2010 06:06 PM

Naw, alls he knows is that it is 'antique' and you know that 'antiques' are worth a lot of money!!! Besides it has that cabinet too! :-D

People usually think adding the word "Vintage" will make thier overpriced junk sell.

lalaland 08-12-2010 06:14 PM

On Ebay a guy has an 1899 Singer handcrank machine that looks like it was hardly used, it's got all the beautiful scrolled decaling on it, original manual and accessories. He wants $1200 for it. Check it out!

Bobby's Girl 08-12-2010 06:23 PM

The red band wrapped around the middle section of the machine is a scrap of fabric used for a pincushion. My mother had a bright pink one sewn around her treadle Singer machine. She wrapped the fabric around a few times, then hand stitched it to keep it in place.

Sadheart 08-12-2010 06:31 PM

You wanna know whats sad. Someone who doesn't know anything will buy it thinking they got a great buy.

littlehud 08-14-2010 09:55 AM

Wow, that is a lot of money. He has high hopes.
