I love paper piecing. I've never taken any kind of quilting class though, I'm too cheap. LOL

I did not like it at first, but kept at it and now I love it, you get perfect points, and it's easy once you get the concept down. I use tracing paper for mine because it tears easily, but you can use regular computer paper too. Keep trying, you will be glad you did

I haven't ever tried the freezer paper method, but love the regular way of doing paper piecing...most important for that method is that you have an add-a-quarter ruler.

Millstream Mom, please don't give up on paper piecing. It is fun and so accurate. I think because you felt rushed to catch up it took the fun out of it. I've done PP with regular paper not freezer paper and it worked great. I'm self taught and it really is easy to do.

I too am self taught, and I just finished my 2nd paper piecing wallhanging. I am in love with it! Hang in there, I am sure you will enjoy it once you get the hang of it.

I use the cheapest weight of computer paper since I usually print them off the computer anyway. Don't think I would like the freezer paper. Saw that from someone else on the Board recently. I also have a couple that I bought that are on tissue paper. I think it's more difficult to work with but they are tiny pieces. Don't give up on it. Try it on your own. It's a lot of fun and a great way to use up scraps.

Try it again! Once the "backwards thinking" kicks in it makes so much sense! And the blocks look wonderful!

I have never tried the freezer paper method because it just doesn't work for me....I find the other way makes more sense and I can understand it and keep it all together.

So definitely give pp-ing another try with a different method...you might find you love it!
