Oh you lucky girl. I lost my latest bid like I have lost them all. But I have a top dollar that I won't go above and apparently other bidders don't have a top dollar. They always outbid me. Oh well. When it's meant to be, I'll get mine.

Lucky you Angie!! She is a beauty!! Enjoy!
I just won the bid on one that will need lots of work! I haven't received it yet, hopefully this week. I already know it needs the bobbin case and the take up lever. I have located the parts, just hope that the take lever isn't going to be a problem replacing. Wish me luck![/quote]

Good Luck!!!!!!!!

Congrats - Mae looks great!!

Deborahlees 05-02-2011 07:12 AM

I have my mothers featherweight. been in her case for years, after all this talk, I should get her out and see what shape she is in. My father bought her for my mother before they were married, so that would put her birthdate in the late 1930's. my mothers pet name was nonie, so that is what I will call her machine.

quiltpd 05-02-2011 07:15 AM

Congratulations on your new "friend". May you and Mae make many happy sewing memories together !

I had a top dollar too and kept loosing the bid. The funny thing is when I did a search on ebay this machine didn't show up. I was doing a google search and saw this ad, clicked on it and it was on ebay. Kind of odd I thought but I placed a bid and waited for the next hour with no other bids coming in.

I wish you luck finding one at a price you can afford.

Angie

I would get Nonie out and enjoy her. I'm sure your mother will be looking down with a smile probably your dad too.

You know I think I will today, have to find the 'safe' place I put her.

Weenween 05-02-2011 07:32 AM

Congrats.

Star Joy 05-02-2011 07:38 AM

Hi Angie,

She is a beauty. This past week-end I saw two at a quilt show. They wanted $525.00 for one and $475.00 for the other. Needless to say they still have them.

Brenda

babyboomerquilter 05-02-2011 07:46 AM

Really a cool machine! I know she will be happy there.

pjnesler 05-02-2011 08:13 AM

Very special! It's so nice to be able to give credit to our family members for this craft we love so much - my grandma did the same for me and each time I work on a project she is always in my thoughts - hugs... ;-)

Wonderful for you to have such a nice little FW. Congratulations on winning the bid! Now, you'll be searching for all kinds of fun attachments. I do so enjoy my FW's

sew_sew 05-02-2011 09:18 AM

Thats great. While I'm in a FW topic, I'd like to ask you FW fans why the bids are all over the place on ebay. Some look just as good as other with little to no interest and some get 30 bids or more. Is it certain years or what?

Dizzydene 05-02-2011 09:47 AM

She's beautiful AND she sings, wonderful!

KSue 05-02-2011 09:54 AM

Mae is just as cute as a button!

wordpaintervs 05-02-2011 10:01 AM

what a great name. My Mom had the same name but hers was a 'middle' name. Lost her to brain cancer twenty years ago.
